Is EatBelt a medical app?
No, EatBelt is NOT a medical app. It provides nutritional information only and should not replace
professional medical advice. Always consult with your healthcare provider before making significant
dietary changes or for medical decisions.
How does the food scoring work?
Our scoring system analyzes foods based on their nutritional content and how they affect your specific
condition. Foods are categorized as:
- 🌟 Excellent (51-100): Highly recommended
- ✅ Recommended (26-50): Good choices
- ⚠️ Caution (1-25): Consume in moderation
- ❌ Avoid (-100-0): Not recommended
Where does the nutritional data come from?
We use two sources for nutritional data:
- Our curated database of pre-analyzed foods
- USDA FoodData Central - the US government's comprehensive food database
This ensures accurate and reliable nutritional information.
Is my data private?
Yes! EatBelt does not collect or store any personal data. All your preferences and favorites are
stored locally on your device only. We do not track, share, or sell any user information.
Can I use EatBelt offline?
You need an internet connection to search for foods and get nutritional data. However, your favorites
and recent searches are stored locally and can be accessed offline.
Why was barcode scanning mentioned but not available?
Barcode scanning is a planned feature for a future update. We're working on implementing it to make
food tracking even easier. Stay tuned for updates!
